Crested Quail Dove Spotted on a birding trip from Lime Tree Farm

WE recently had 2 Danish guests visit for a week – Inger Norreskov Jensen & her son Stellen were keen to see Jamaica’s endemic birds. The weather was terrible for this time of year but despite a few wet birding excursions we managed to spot a large proportion of Jamaica’s endemics including the illusive Crested Quail Dove known locally as the Mountain Witch & only found in the Blue Mountains.
For more information on birding from Lime Tree Farm visit or contact me – charlie@limetreefarm.com.

  • Best home-style Jamaican Food

"At Lime Tree Farm I ate some of the best home-style Jamaican food I have ever tasted: traditional breakfasts of breadfruit and fresh ackee - which you can only get in tins in the UK - spicy callaloo soup, fried fresh fish and desserts of mango or faultless, sticky coconut macaroons."
